Working Prime Day for a publication is exhausting, especially in Prime Day early days when you didn’t have the sales in an epic spreadsheet ahead of time. I’d wake up while it was still dark and scour Amazon for the entire day. Deal after deal. Page after page. It was grueling in a weird dry-eyeball sort of way. But I also loved the chase: I loved the idea that I could help people find better deals on things they wanted. I still love that.
While I no longer work for a publication (only myself) and I try to shop directly with smaller brands instead of Amazon (though zero judgment if you do!), I still enjoy that chase, which is why today I spent some time hunting down a few great non-Amazon sales to shop in case you’re feeling shoppy.

The Thermopop is 25% off. While it may be milliseconds less fast, it’s less expensive and just as good at keeping the paranoia at bay.
Up to 30% off Brooklinen: There are a lot of bedding sales happening. I tend to like Brooklinen for their quality and middle-of-the-road pricing. Do a bundle for the best discounts!
Extra 20% off Hawkins New York: Such a fun time to stock up on cool home items, like this beautiful table runner and these colorful bubble glasses.
Up to 30% off Coming Soon: File these under things that make me happy: these punchy dinner bowls, this tulip jug, and this mushroom teapot.

Up to 40% off Bose headphones: I love my QuietComfort ones! You can even lower the amount of noise-cancelling if it makes you dizzy (it makes me dizzy).

Up to 25% off Away luggage: I love my Away luggage. They have sales often, so this shouldn’t come as a surprise — just a note to never pay full price. If you hate checking a bag (like me), the Bigger Carry-On Flex is the way to go.
Free shipping from Bookshop!: This is a great opportunity to buy your favorite books from not Amazon! Might I suggest preordering Nights & Weekends or grabbing Georgia Freedman’s Snacking Dinners for non-cooking dinners (which is nice on hot summer nights). There’s also Julia Turshen’s What Goes With What. And 2025 James Beard winner Our South. Also, the entire ACOTAR series because damn, if it’s not the best escapism on the planet.
