I’ve been questioning whether I should put my voice on the pile — because everyone’s got something to say about what’s happening in Israel right now. Facts and opinions are mixing in a sea of memes and propaganda. There is so much misinformation and even more hate. Most of this is posted by people in the comfort of their own homes. People who have electricity and running water and security. So how is what I have to say any different?
The truth is that it’s not. I don’t know what it’s like to have my community leveled to the ground, to have my baby ripped from my arms, to not know when my next meal is or whether my family is dead or alive, to have nowhere to go. Even just imagining this type of despair has been keeping me up at night and making my heart ache in a way I’ve never felt before. And that’s just imagining it.
In my head, I have a million conflicting arguments about what is right and wrong, what is fair, and what is just. And I can offer no solutions.
